Pyrolox is a mineral bed inside of an automatic backwashing tank, which sends the foreign substances in your water backwards and right down the drain. These filters are also great for making your water softener work more efficiently and smoothly for many years to come, although they also work great all by themselves on water that does not need to be softened.The very best in water conditioners. These filters are piston free unlike copycat companies who use cheap Fleck piston driven valves. *Many other sizes available, just give us a quick call. You MUST know your maximum potential flow rate to properly size ANY iron filter. You should be very wary of any company who does not require this information.


Before making a purchase, it is recommended that you get a basic water test for iron and pH levels and determine your flow rate.

How to test your flow rate:

  1. Find the nearest faucet in the home that is AFTER the pressure tank, not the one on the pressure tank.
  2. Open the faucet and run water until the pump starts. The instant the pump turns on, turn the water off while pump is continues to run. Count the seconds the pump runs and write the number down.
  3. Open the faucet again. Run water into a container (a 5 gallon bucket or empty gallon container seems best. Remember it is ok to shut the faucet off while you empty the container should it get full) and record the VOLUME (gallons or liters) of water it takes for pump to start up again.
  4. Call or e-mail one of our technicians and they will tell you exactly which tank you need. There are some variables involved so be sure and speak with us before ordering.
